A well-established financial institution is seeking an HR Specialist to provide professional support in functional areas of the Human Resources department, including recruitment and employment, employee and/or labor relations, and benefits administration. This role also supports the implementation of the HR strategic initiatives and administration of confidential forms and records.

What you will do:

  • Manage the ATS and Recruiting process, including job postings, screening applications/candidates, scheduling interviews and drafting offer letters
  • Administer pre-employment screenings such as criminal background checks, credit investigations, and onboarding documents
  • Coordinate and complete processing of materials related to HR programs/policies such as status and employee data changes, new hire and separation documents, systems requirement changes and employment verification requests
  • Conduct safety and ergonomic evaluations and takes the lead in administering the IIPP program, quarterly training and other safety related matters
  • Prepare and conduct New Hire Orientation and welcomes new hires with onboarding process and procedures
  • Provide informed professional assistance and effectively communicate with employees, applicants, and others
  • Accurately maintain human resource reports including monthly DOL statistics report, annual OSHA report and assigned year-end HR report
  • Promptly process and report all long-term disability insurance claims and Worker’s Compensation claims
  • Interpret laws and tax codes as they relate to human resources procedures, maintaining an understanding of applicable regulations including DOL, EEOC, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA, COBRA, and other personnel laws by attending an annual HR legal update
  • Develop partnerships with internal staff and has responsibility to manage and promote the existing employee recognition program, MVR and parking permits

What we are looking for:

  • 1 – 3 years of similar or related experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the legal aspects of Human Resources is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree or HR certification
  • Experience motivating, influencing, and/or training others
  • Ability and experience in fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals)
  • Competency with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Paylocity, ADP or other HRIS systems knowledge a plus.
