In this solo HR & Payroll role, you will help create an engaging work environment by developing and managing the full spectrum of HR. This organization is already well-established in terms of their HR programs but they are looking for someone to take them to the next level.

HR and Payroll Manager job description:

  • Collaborate across the organization to refine and drive HR strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Lead our successful staffing process that includes recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Help develop training materials that will help new employees quickly become productive and integral members of the team.
  • Contribute to the refinement of our pay strategy.
  • Review and investigate employee issues and conflicts. Support resolutions where possible.
  • Help to evolve our performance management processes and tools in order to be more effective.
  • Manage human resources effectively and create an effective HR system and process
  • Provides guidance and support to help carry out the company’s mission to the leadership team.
  • Opportunities to drive improvements and engage the leadership team.
  •  Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations and a comprehensive set of policies and procedures.
  •  Managing and processing payroll , weekly payroll includes maintaining employee information (deductions, taxes, garnishments, direct deposits, and support orders), reviewing earnings, processing payroll/financial reports. The most important part is to manage payroll to ensure accuracy in the data.
  •  First line contact for all employees regarding benefits, payroll deductions, OT, pay, etc.
  • Manages all new hire onboarding, background checks and offer letters.
  • Benefit Plans Administrative Support.

  • Knowledge of human resource strategies and practices is important for any business. With experience in applying these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulation, you are well-equipped to manage your employees effectively.
  • Good communication skills are essential for any organization. In order to contribute to a continuous improvement culture, individuals need the ability to effectively interface with others and share information.
  • Experience working with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll systems.
  • Excellent problem solver and strategist and have strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities and workflow is a valuable asset.
  • Proven leadership and business skills are a must.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and writing ability. 
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and can write very clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
