With more than 100 years of building structures and relationships and plans for 100 more, our heavy manufacturing and fabrication client is seeking an accomplished Director of HR and Labor Relations for their corporate leadership team. In this role, you will oversee HR administration and compliance, recruiting and employee development, as well as serve as lead for labor relations, negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements, and grievance procedures for California operations.
What you will do in Director of HR and Labor Relations:
- Chief negotiator for labor contracts negotiations
- Administer and manage administration of labor contracts
- Oversee processes for review and resolution of employee grievances
- Manage HR operations for recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching and counseling staff
- Support management by providing HR advice, counsel and decisions
- Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing and updating policies
- Develop and maintains job descriptions and competitive salary administration policies and procedures
- Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislations
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in labor relations, negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
- BS Degree in Labor Relations/HR or related field
- Strong knowledge of CA laws and regulations
- Experience in HR administration and compliance, recruiting and employment development
